Job summary

Ko-Kwel Casino Resort on Oregon's southern coast is seeking an enthusiastic server to deliver exceptional dining experiences. You will guide guests through menus, take accurate orders, and promptly deliver meals, while upholding high service standards and a hospitable environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in high-volume F&B, strong reading and math skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Safety, teamwork, and respectful communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years serving in high-volume Food & Beverage environments.
• Good reading, writing, math and communication skills.
• Able to interact professionally with other departments.
• Capable of handling a heavy workload in a fast-paced setting.
• Must pass background checks and comply with policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous, and personalized service to all Guests.
• Guide Guests through the menu, answer questions, and suggest items.
• Accurately take and enter orders into the POS and deliver promptly.
• Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming dining areas and workstations.
• Perform quality checks on food and beverages before service.
• Handle guest complaints calmly and notify a Manager when needed.
• Follow safety and alcohol service standards and cash handling procedures.
• Assist in training new staff as applicable.

What you bring to the table

• Make sure the space stay safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and personalized service to all Guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Guide Guests through the menu, answer questions thoroughly, suggest specific items, and share information about the venue.
• Accurately take and enter all orders into the POS system and deliver orders correctly and promptly.
• Perform final quality checks on food and beverages before delivering them to Guests.
• Present food and beverages as soon as they are prepared with a sense of urgency.
• Practice full hands in/full hands out to maintain service efficiency.
• Communicate and build rapport with Guests, learning names when possible to create a welcoming environment.
• Handle Guest complaints appropriately and notify a Manager when necessary.
• Follow all proper cash handling procedures and responsible alcohol service standards.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables, booths, and chairs to maintain a clean and organized dining area.
• Maintain service stations and complete all assigned side work, opening, running, and closing duties.
• Scrape, rack, and stack dishes and glassware properly in the dish area.
• Assist in training new Staff Members when applicable.
• Ensure a harassment-free environment through proper conduct.
• Use respectful language with Guests, Staff Members, and Managers at all times.
• Respond appropriately and remain calm in emergency situations.
• Notify Manager/Supervisor of low inventory.
• Understand, comply with, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
• Understand and utilize all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program; report any accidents.
• Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running (Other duties as assigned)

• One (1) to two (2) years serving in high volume Food and Beverage environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good reading, writing, and mathematical and communication skills.
• Able to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
• Able to complete heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Good judgement and decision-making abilities.
• Health permit/food safety and Alcohol Awareness. Team member required to obtain cards individually and provide proof of possession prior to first day of employment subject to local US laws.
• Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drugfree workplace policies.
