Job summary

Greentree Manor in Waterford, Connecticut, is seeking an Environmental Services Director to oversee housekeeping operations and lead the Environmental Services team. Reporting to the Nursing Home Administrator, you will manage staff, cleaning programs, supplies, and inspections while helping the facility meet its infection control and safety standards.

You must have strong leadership, 3+ years of supervisory experience in environmental services, and knowledge of infection control.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent education/experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory environmental services experience, preferably in skilled nursing.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safety regulations.
• Ability to read policies, procedures, and maintenance instructions.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage a team, conduct meetings, and coordinate with residents, families, staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, and direct the facility’s housekeeping operations.
• Hire, train, assign, coach, and evaluate Environmental Services staff; address performance concerns according to company policy.
• Maintain and follow a current master cleaning plan for the entire facility.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections to help ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
• Develop procedures and programs that improve the effectiveness of housekeeping services.
• Manage cleaning supplies, chemicals, equipment, and departmental records.
• Work with the Administrator to develop the department budget and refer matters requiring policy changes or outside contracts for approval.
• Follow applicable environmental, health, safety, and infection control requirements.
• Participate in disaster planning, emergency preparedness, staff training, and fire drills.
• Attend department head, Infection Control Committee, and QAPI meetings.
• Treat residents with dignity, protect their privacy, and support their rights.
