Job summary

Ryders Health Management is seeking an Environmental Services Director to lead Greentree Manor’s housekeeping operations in Waterford, CT. You will supervise staff, manage cleaning programs, and ensure infection control and safety standards are met across the facility.

You will collaborate with the Nursing Home Administrator, manage supplies and inspections, and help plan the department budget while maintaining resident dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in environmental services.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and relevant safety requirements.
• Ability to read policies, procedures, and maintenance information.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, and direct housekeeping operations.
• Hire, train, coach, and evaluate Environmental Services staff; address performance concerns.
• Maintain and follow a current master cleaning plan for the facility.
• Conduct daily/weekly/monthly inspections to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Develop procedures to improve housekeeping effectiveness and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, chemicals, equipment, and records.
• Assist in budgeting and policy decisions with the Administrator.
• Adhere to environmental, health, safety, and infection control requirements.
• Participate in disaster planning, training, and drills.
• Attend department and infection control meetings; protect residents’ rights.
