Job summary

Greentree Manor, a 90-bed skilled nursing facility in Waterford, CT, seeks an Environmental Services Director to oversee housekeeping operations and lead our Environmental Services team. Reporting to the Nursing Home Administrator, you will manage staff, cleaning programs, supplies, and inspections while helping the facility meet infection control and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has supervisory experience, knowledge of infection control, strong leadership and communication skills, and

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in environmental services.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safety regulations.
• Ability to read policies, procedures, and maintenance information.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and use computer programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise, and direct housekeeping operations.
• Hire, train, coach, and evaluate Environmental Services staff.
• Maintain a current master cleaning plan for the facility.
• Conduct inspections to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Develop procedures to improve housekeeping effectiveness.
• Manage supplies, chemicals, equipment, and records.
• Assist in budgeting and policy-adjacent decisions.
• Follow environmental, health, safety, and infection control requirements.
• Participate in disaster planning and staff training.
