JOB SUMMARY:
Are you an experienced environmental services leader who takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable home for residents? Greentree Manor is seeking an Environmental Services Director to oversee housekeeping operations and lead our Environmental Services team. Reporting to the Nursing Home Administrator, you will manage staff, cleaning programs, supplies, and inspections while helping the facility meet its infection control and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize, supervise, and direct the facility’s housekeeping operations.
Hire, train, assign, coach, and evaluate Environmental Services staff; address performance concerns according to company policy.
Maintain and follow a current master cleaning plan for the entire facility.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections to help ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
Develop procedures and programs that improve the effectiveness of housekeeping services.
Manage cleaning supplies, chemicals, equipment, and departmental records.
Work with the Administrator to develop the department budget and refer matters requiring policy changes or outside contracts for approval.
Follow applicable environmental, health, safety, and infection control requirements.
Participate in disaster planning, emergency preparedness, staff training, and fire drills.
Attend department head, Infection Control Committee, and QAPI meetings.
Treat residents with dignity, protect their privacy, and support their rights.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
At least three years of supervisory experience; environmental services experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
Knowledge of infection control practices and relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, equipment instructions, and maintenance information.
Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence and use basic computer programs.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage a team, conduct meetings, set goals, and work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including moving throughout the facility and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 40 pounds.
