Job summary

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is seeking a dedicated environmental services associate to join our night shift team. You will clean patient and public areas, stock supplies, and follow infection control procedures to maintain a safe hospital environment.

You will document work performed, operate cleaning equipment, and support bed management workflows using handheld devices. High school diploma and excellent customer service are preferred in this role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard.
• Must operate a computer using standard office software.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to interact with patients.
• Read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, reports, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Follow oral and written assignments and have basic environmental duties knowledge.
• Healthcare environmental services experience preferred.
• Knowledge of additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including trash collection and surface sanitizing.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in assigned areas as needed.
• Follows infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Uses Bed Management system to maintain bed through put and tracks with handheld device.
• Uses equipment including cleaning/trash cart and other janitorial supplies; collects and stages soiled linen.
• Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste.
• Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids per facility standards.
• Documents all work performed; accesses ancillary units, restrooms, and offices.

Job Description:

• Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces.
• Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
• Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking.
• Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up.
