Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a healthcare environmental services teammate responsible for cleaning patient and public areas, stocking supplies, and maintaining infection-control standards.

The role requires ability to work with teams, use computer systems for bed management, and provide excellent customer service to patients and staff. PRN Day shifts are available at this Palm Coast facility.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and infection-control concepts.
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• English communication required.
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse/keyboard.
• Able to operate office software.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to interact with patients.
• Read and understand Safety Data Sheets and labels.
• Follow oral and written assignments and basic environmental duties.
• Healthcare environmental services experience preferred.
• Knowledge of additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned patient and public areas daily, including trash removal.
• Stock paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in assigned areas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of infection-control and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
• Utilize Bed Management system and handheld tech for bed flow.
• Handle waste disposal including biohazard materials.
• Clean and disinfect areas with bodily fluids per facility standards.
• Document all work performed and access various units.

Job Description:

Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces. Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Other duties as assigned. Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking. Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste. Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Documents all work performed. Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]
