Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking an environmental services assistant to maintain safety and cleanliness across the facility. In this role you will perform routine floor care, dusting, and restroom sanitation.

You will set up spaces for events, report maintenance needs, and work a 20-hour week on a daytime schedule, onsite at 70 Francis Street, with a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Experience with hospital cleaning equipment and chemicals (2-3 years).
• Strong organization, communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures and equipment.
• Wash walls, ceilings, windows and restroom fixtures.
• Clean and sanitize waste receptacles and restrooms.

Job Summary Summary

Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of a hospital or other healthcare facility.

Essential Functions

• Sweeps, mops, waxes, strips, and polishes floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets
• Dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and door glass
• Empties, cleans, and sanitizes waste receptacles in assigned areas
• Cleans and sanitizes restroom facilities and fixtures as assigned including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls and drinking fountains; replenish restroom supplies as needed
• Picks up debris around building
• Operates and controls high and low speed stripping/buffing machines
• Sets up tables, chairs, and equipment in a variety of settings for special events and normal hospital activities
• Identifies and reports building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Experience

experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required

20 hour day position, Monday through Friday from 9:00am-1:00pm
