Dewberry in Daphne, AL is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our team. You will perform activities related to Alabama’s CWA 401 and 404 permitting, wetlands work, and coordination with ADCNR and USFWS, including Gopher Tortoise species work.

The role requires a BS in Environmental Science or related field and 4–6 years of experience, with proficiency in ArcMap/GIS and AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and strong communication skills. Domestic travel and team mentoring are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Science or related field is required; MS/PhD a plus.
• 4–6 years of work experience in environmental permitting and coordination.
• Ability to manage and mentor environmental staff.
• Proficiency with ArcMap GIS; knowledge of Alabama regulations preferred.

Responsabilités

• Execute project activities with clients, project teams, and regulators.
• Coordinate field visits with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct soil, hydrology and vegetation inventory and surveys.
• Prepare environmental permit applications (CWA 401/404) and NPDES.
• Document results and support plans, specs and client approvals.
