Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated in NW Florida is seeking an environmental scientist to join our team in Panama City. The role focuses on environmental permitting, natural resource inventories, wetland delineation, species assessments, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a BS in environmental science, 5–10 years of relwork experience, and proficiency with GIS tools. Local and statewide travel may be required; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology or related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in environmental projects.
• Experience with regulatory permitting and NEPA background is a plus.
• Knowledge of Florida environmental regulations and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field visits with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct soil, hydrology and vegetation inventories and surveys.
• Prepare environmental permit applications.
• Document and summarize field investigations and analyses.
• Develop plans, maps and supporting documentation for approvals.
• Support proposal preparation, budgeting and scheduling.
• Execute project activities with the project team and regulators.
• Travel locally and statewide as required.
