DNREC's Shoreline and Waterway Management Section seeks an Environmental Scientist III to coordinate science, engineering, and field operations on resource management tasks such as beach nourishment, dredging, and hazard mitigation. The role leads communications, permit drafting and reviews, project management, GIS application management, and grant oversight.

The position requires a relevant degree and strong data analysis, technical writing, and regulatory interpretation skills to support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, or Applied Science or related field.
  • Two years' experience analyzing and evaluating scientific data.
  • Two years' experience interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Two years' experience in technical report writing.
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Valid driver's license required.

Job description

The Environmental Scientist III is a field-based position within Delaware's DNREC Shoreline and Waterway Management Section that coordinates among science, engineering, and field operations teams on resource management tasks including beach nourishment, dredging, and hazard mitigation.
