Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Corpus Christi, TX seeks an Environmental Scientist II to support environmental projects, including research, surveys, mapping, and permitting. The role involves collecting & assimilating data, preparing analysis, and working on medium-size projects.

You will participate in public information meetings, assist clients with permit coordination and compliance, and collaborate with a small team of professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a closely related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Excel.
• Strong environmental writing and communication skills.
• Solid conceptual, organizational, problem solving and research abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.

Environmental Scientist II

The Environmental Scientist II will support environmental projects, including research, surveys, mapping, and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Collect project‑related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc.
• Assimilate and manage data.
• Prepare constraints mapping.
• Define the level of environmental analysis required.
• Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods.
• Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings.
• Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance.
• Work independently on medium‑size projects, or assist more‑senior scientists on larger projects.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications
