Job summary

DNREC in Delaware seeks an Environmental Scientist III to support field operations and coordination across science, engineering, and related teams. The role involves beach nourishment, dredging, debris removal, hazard mitigation, plus lead on permits, reports, and mapping.

Ideal candidates have GIS knowledge and ESRI GIS experience, plus 2+ years in data analysis, environmental law interpretation, and technical reporting. Telemwork options and alternative schedules are available.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, or Applied Science or related field.
Two years' experience in analyzing and evaluating scientific data.
Two years' experience in interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
Two years' experience in technical report writing.

Responsibilities

Conducts field studies or inspections and evaluations for permit and regulatory compliance; analyzes data and makes recommendations.
Performs statistical analysis of data.
Reviews permit applications to ensure regulatory compliance.
Prepares permits, technical reports and enforcement documents.
Responds to regulatory inquiries from agencies and stakeholders.
