Job summary

Canacre is seeking an environmental professional to lead site assessments and data collection for wetlands and watercourses. You will map survey areas using GIS, ensure regulatory compliance, evaluate ecological value, and support restoration projects across infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biology, Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences or related field.
• 5+ years of environmental consulting/field surveying experience.
• Experience on infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Section 401/404 regulations and wetlands.
• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or WPIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site Assessment: conduct field surveys of wetlands and watercourses.
• Data Collection: gather data on water quality, hydrology and biodiversity.
• Mapping: create maps/reports using GIS tools.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure compliance with 401/404, prepare reports.
• Habitat Evaluation: assess ecological value of wetlands and watercourses.
• Restoration Projects: participate in restoration and enhancement efforts.
• Monitoring: ongoing monitoring of wetlands and watercourses.
• Public Education and Outreach: educate stakeholders on ecosystem importance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
