Job Title: Environmental Science Specialist 2 - Community Liaison

Job Summary

This role involves acting as a bridge between the public and ADEQ by building relationships with local government officials, community members, and stakeholders in Northern Arizona. The position requires residing within the community served, listening to community issues, coordinating problem-solving meetings, and advocating for community needs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of at least one of ADEQ’s main divisions (air, water, waste) and the ability to communicate complex environmental regulations clearly.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between the public and ADEQ.
• Engage with residents, businesses, and stakeholders about ADEQ programs and regulations.
• Respond to environmental concerns and connect individuals with relevant ADEQ services.
• Represent ADEQ at regional meetings and ensure community needs are addressed.
