The State of Arizona is seeking an Environmental Scientist to support its Ambient Monitoring and Pesticides Program. What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collect data and provide technical support for the Ambient Monitoring and Pesticides Program
- Draft technical reports and manage spreadsheets to benefit program outcomes
- Conduct field experience in sampling according to established plans and procedures
- Assist with Individual Permitting Work related to the Aquifer Protection Program
- Collaborate with senior staff and adhere to environmental regulations and guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, hydrology, geology, environmental engineering/sciences/management, chemistry, law, or sustainability
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental science or a related field
- Knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations and best practices for pollution prevention
- Ability to conduct fieldwork in various weather conditions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and summarizing data
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of required experience
- Experience with environmental research, investigation techniques, and statistical analysis
- Familiarity with the State of Arizona's environmental policies and processes
