Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Chicago is seeking an Engineering Intern to assist lead engineers with standard design tasks, data collection and documentation across environmental services projects. You will contribute to preparing presentations, updating designs, and supporting project teams in a dynamic office setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner; aptitude to grow within the field.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
