Job summary

West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Environmental Resources Specialist 2 to support the Office of Abandoned Mine Lands in Fayetteville. The role involves field investigations, data collection and analysis, and documenting environmental impacts across designated regions.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and has 2+ years' experience in environmental resources. A comprehensive benefits package and flexible schedules are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of full-time or equivalent paid professional experience in environmental resources or related field.
• Substitution: 15 semester hours per year of experience allowed.
• Promotional Only: one year as Environmental Resources Specialist 1 may substitute for training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and conduct field investigations of AML reclamation projects.
• Collect and review technical data related to environmental quality; analyze and evaluate data.
• Take photographs of reclamation sites and maintain records.
• Perform other related duties as required.
