Job summary

The Edventure Group is seeking an Environmental Resources Specialist 2 for the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Land Restoration, Office of Special Reclamation. This role covers Boone, Braxton, Clay, Kanawha, Logan, Mingo, Nicholas, Putnam, Wayne, and Webster Counties with an Office Location in Charleston, WV.

Under general supervision, you will operate and maintain water treatment facilities, collect data, and prepare reports while conducting watershed

Qualifications

• Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Substitution: Additional full-time or equivalent paid experience may substitute for required training.
• Experience: Two years of professional environmental work experience.
• Promotional Only: One year of experience as Environmental Resources Specialist 1 may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Will assist with operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities.
• Must master operating systems within treatment facilities to meet discharge limits.
• Collect data and prepare statistical/narrative reports on facility operations and watershed plans.
• Communicate effectively with watershed groups, officials, and the public.
• Conduct field watershed inspections to identify pollution sources and assess environmental impact.
