Job summary

The Maryland Department of the Environment seeks a Natural Resource Planner II to evaluate erosion control and stormwater programs, conduct field inspections across Maryland, and develop reports with recommendations to improve local compliance and environmental protection.

You will engage with staff and stakeholders, communicate policy implications on climate and environmental justice, and support program enhancements. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or natural resources planning, management or development.
• One year of experience in natural resources planning or applied environmental science.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate erosion, sediment control, stormwater management, and federal stormwater permits.
• Travel Maryland-wide to inspect urban pollution control practices and enforcement policies.
• Analyze data and observations to report on program effectiveness and recommendations.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote consistent policies.
