Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission is seeking a field maintenance worker to support stormwater facilities and outdoor park maintenance across various sites. The role requires performing vegetation care, weed control, and routine upkeep with minimal supervision, reporting to the team leader.

Responsibilities include operating landscape equipment, conducting safety checks, and adhering to Department of Environment Protection standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required to drive Commission vehicles.
• Two years of groundskeeping, park maintenance, or related experience.
• Ability to read and write.
• Must pass Commission medical examination.
• Knowledge of groundskeeping, landscaping, and park maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform stormwater facilities preventive maintenance according to DEP standards.
• Maintain bioretention and rain garden facilities with healthy vegetation.
• Operate hand and power tools and walk-behind/ riding mowers.
• Perform routine safety inspection and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Report to team leader with minimal supervision.
