Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for environmental remediation projects in Jacksonville, FL. You will operate excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other earthmoving equipment on civil and environmental sites, performing grading and site prep under safety-focused procedures.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years of excavator experience, GPS grading skills, and Hazwoper/OSHA certifications. This role requires outdoor work in hot conditions and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience operating excavators on civil or earthwork sites.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• OSHA 10 and Hazwoper 40-hour certifications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators to support excavation and environmental remediation work.
• Operate bulldozers, dozers, loaders, backhoes, trackhoes, and loaders on civil projects.
• Perform grading and earthwork using GPS to meet specs.
• Support civil site prep for environmental and earthwork projects.
• Follow remediation procedures to ensure safe handling of soils.
• Maintain and inspect heavy equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Read and follow plans and site procedures.
• Maintain focus and situational awareness while operating equipment.
• Lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Work Monday to Friday on 10-hour shifts; be available on-call.
• Adhere to OSHA and Hazwoper safety standards.
