Job summary

Firstech Environmental, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Remediation Equipment Operator to join our field team on projects across New Jersey.

You will operate excavators, loaders, and compactors to remove impacted soils, prep pads, backfill, and restore grades while coordinating with craftsmen and a foreman. You will mentor junior staff, ensure equipment is clean and secure, and work on active remediation sites with strict safety protocols and required PPE.

Qualifications

• Heavy equipment operation experience required.
• HAZWOPER certification or willingness to obtain.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, loaders and compactors on remediation sites.
• Lead and support on-site crews during remediation tasks.
• Follow written and verbal plans and use proper tools to meet daily goals.
• Prepare new construction sites by digging, grading, and compacting soil.
• Assist contractors and foremen as needed.
• Train field staff and cross-train on new skills.
• Adhere to health and safety rules and wear PPE at all times.

Shape the land, restore sites, protect communitiesFor 30 years, Firstech Environmental, Inc. in Farmingdale, NJ has delivered site remediation, UST closures, and general site work across New Jersey. We are adding an Environmental Remediation Equipment Operator to our field team.A day in this roleYou start with a safety briefing, review the plan with your supervisor, then mobilize to active remediation projects throughout the region (work is on the road). On site, you operate excavators, loaders, and compactors to remove impacted soils, prep pads, backfill, and restore grades.
