Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Regulatory Specialist to deliver technical regulatory support, develop project deliverables, manage tasks and budgets, and support project success across Virginia, North Carolina, and federal contexts.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, licensing, and permitting within the utility sector, collaboration with clients, and interaction with public stakeholders to ensure smooth permit acquisition.

Qualifications

• Experience with environmental regulations, licensing, and permitting in the utility sector within Virginia, North Carolina, and federal contexts.
• Knowledge of Section 404, 10, 7/10 Endangered Species Act, 106 NHPA, Virginia Water Protection, and related permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements.
• Prepare permit applications and coordinate agency responses.
• Write and review technical reports.
• Manage tasks and project budgets; onboard sub-consultants.
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders across time zones.
