Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking an Environmental Qualification Engineer III to support the SAOC program. Hybrid role based at Plano, TX or Dayton, OH, with responsibilities spanning qualification planning, artifact evaluation, and coordination with engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of environmental qualification or related aerospace experience, FAA process knowledge, and strong communication skills to drive successful certification and project delivery.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in electromagnetic effects engineering or environmental qualification.
• Experience with FAA certification process.
• Experience with equipment environmental qualification methods for FAA and/or military aircraft.
• Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160G, MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Allocate environmental qualification requirements to equipment.
• Evaluate qualification artifacts against requirements, including gap assessments.
• Coordinate with IPTs and subcontractors to ensure understood qualification plans.
• Maintain the environmental qualification database.
• Lead technical planning and risk management efforts.
• Mentor junior engineers.
