Job summary

Braun Intertec is looking for a Project Scientist to lead and manage environmental projects, including due diligence, remedial investigation, and response action implementation. Responsibilities include budgeting, client communications, project setup and management, and directing field staff to complete all project aspects including final reporting.

The role requires a BS degree in Geology, Earth or Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or Chemistry, 6+ years of related experience, OSHA 40-hour

Qualifications

• Ability to read and independently analyze and interpret technical reports, technical guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental contamination.
• Strong technical writings skills including written reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information verbally and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA).
• Conduct Phase II ESAs and related soil, vapor and groundwater contaminant investigations.
• Coordinate and manage active remediation sites and related services.
• Perform detailed cost estimates for environmental investigation and remediation projects.
• Prepare response action plans to facilitate remediation and redevelopment.
• Coordinate and direct field personnel and contractor personnel.
• Assist in training new staff in field procedures.
• Prepare scopes of work, work breakdown structures, and cost proposals.
• Manage projects including direct client communications.
• Data evaluation and report preparation.
