Job summary

Braun Intertec is seeking a Project Scientist to lead environmental projects, including Phase I/II ESAs, remediation, and Brownfield work. Responsibilities include budgeting, client communications, project setup, and mentoring staff, with a strong emphasis on data interpretation and reporting.

The role requires a geology or environmental science degree and 6+ years of related experience, OSHA Hazwoper, and Brownfield program experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and independently analyze and interpret technical reports, technical guidance documents, and governmental regulations pertaining to environmental contamination.
• Strong technical writings skills including written reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information verbally and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
• Ability to independently solve practical problems and manage daily project variables.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage and procure client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Conducting and managing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
• Conducting and managing Phase II ESAs and related soil, vapor and groundwater contaminant investigations
• Conducting and managing Brownfield redevelopment remediation and related services
• Performing detailed cost estimates for environmental investigation and remediation projects
• Preparing response action plans to facilitate remediation and redevelopment
• Coordinating and directing field personnel and contractor personnel
• Assisting in training new staff in field procedures
• Preparing scopes of work, work breakdown structures, and cost proposals
• Managing projects including direct client communications
• Data evaluation and report preparation
