Job summary

GHD has a U.S. West Mining Team seeking a Project Manager to support legacy mine reclamation and remediation projects. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with about five years' industry experience transitioning into project management.

The position is based in our hybrid offices (Phoenix, AZ or other West region offices) with in-office three days per week and opportunities to grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, Geotechnical, Environmental, or Mining Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 5+ years of technical experience in environmental remediation and site assessments.
• Project management experience beyond day-to-day tasks, including budgeting and resource planning.
• Understanding of project management principles and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and plan projects using disciplined project management practices (scope confirmation, WBS, schedule, risk planning, onboarding).
• Manage execution and controls: track progress, issues, changes, and dependencies; maintain project records in the project workspace for traceability.
• Coordinate communications and reporting cadence; maintain deadline control for regulatory and client reporting obligations.
• Manage vendors and subcontractors under defined procedures; ensure work plans and outputs follow required verification pathways.
• Support digital field data collection and standardized reporting workflows; contribute to dashboards and evidence packs used for program and project visibility.
• Prepare deliverables and ensure they are ready for check/review with project director and/or subject matter expert approval prior to external use.
• Escalate risks and deviations early using leading indicators and agreed thresholds to support 'no surprises' delivery.
• Close out projects with complete documentation, lessons learned, and handoff as required
