Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking an Associate Project Manager for its New England Environmental Team. The role blends office-based project management with hands-on field work across Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including travel.

You will manage projects, client coordination, regulatory reporting, and remediation support, contributing to fast-paced, diverse projects in environmental consulting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related major.
• 5+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Massachusetts-based regulations.
• Strong technical report writing proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel 40% in MA and RI (occasional travel throughout New England).
• Must be available for infrequent night and weekend work.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Project management of environmental projects, including coordinating with team, clients, regulators, and subcontractors.
• Manage project financials: budgets, subcontractor invoices, and funding sources.
• Prepare proposals for environmental projects, including site walks and scopes of work.
• Prepare technical reports for MCP andrelated requirements.
• Support remediation design and implementation (pump and treat, soil vapor extraction, etc.).
• Support soil and hazardous waste characterization and disposal.
• Collect soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, surface water, and drinking water samples.
• Oversee site investigation and characterization and contaminated site remediation.
• Conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
• Support emergency response services and health & safety policies.
