Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking an Associate Project Manager for the New England Environmental Team. This role blends office-based project management with hands-on field support across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Travel to MA/RI sites is required, with some overnight stays possible.

You'll manage budgets, coordinate with clients and regulators, prepare proposals, and supervise site investigations and remediation activities, contributing to safe, compliant projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related major.
• 5+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience.
• 3+ years with Massachusetts-based regulations.
• Demonstrated technical report writing proficiency.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able to travel 40% in MA and RI; occasional travel.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness for infrequent night and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental project scope, budgets, and client coordination.
• Oversee project financials: budgets, invoices, grants, and funding sources.
• Prepare proposals and conduct site walks with clients.
• Prepare technical reports supporting MCP and risk assessments.
• Support remediation design and field implementation tasks.
• Collect soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, and water samples.
• Provide oversight of site investigations and remediation efforts.
• Conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
• Support emergency response services and health/safety policies.
