Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an Associate Project Manager for our Environmental Team in Glastonbury, CT. This role blends office-based project management with field work supporting environmental projects across Connecticut.

Ideal candidates will have a BA/BS in Environmental Science, 5+ years in environmental consulting, CT regulations experience, strong report-writing skills, and ability to travel up to 40%. We offer annual bonus opportunities and a path for career growth.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Environmental Science or related major is required.
5+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
3+ years of experience with Connecticut-based regulations.
Demonstrated technical report writing proficiency.
Valid driver’s license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
Must be available for infrequent night and weekend work.

Responsibilities

Prepare proposals for environmental projects, including technical scopes of work.
Project management of CT-based environmental projects, including client communication and invoicing.
Prepare technical reports (RAPs / COIs / GMRs).
Conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
Collect field samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and drinking water.
Provide oversight of site investigation and characterization as well as contaminated site remediation.
Support emergency response services.
Communicate and collaborate with others.
Manage workloads and records.
Implement health and safety policies.
Meet financial-based targets.
