Job summary

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Safety & Site Support, seeks an Environmental Project Manager to supervise environmental consultants and drilling contractors on capital projects, ensuring technical accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities include reviewing Phase I/II environmental reports, permit applications, HASP, FSP, MHP, RAP, conducting field visits, and developing remedial action plans to comply with Federal, NYS and NYC regulations.

Qualifications

• One year of supervisory project management experience on large projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Additional civil service education/experience credits may apply per NY rules.

Responsibilities

• Supervise environmental consultants and drilling contractors for project deliverables.
• Review design documents, Phase I/II ESAs, and permit/RAP documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct field visits and manage environmental projects of varying complexity.
• Prepare technical reports and SOPs; present regulatory requirements for environmental compliance.
