Job summary

Element Staffing Services seeks an Environmental Project Manager in the Latham, NY region to oversee hazardous materials surveys for renovation and demolition. Travel up to 25% is required; standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Responsibilities include planning surveys, developing abatement plans, preparing reports, and coordinating with clients and regulators to keep projects on schedule. A BS in a related field and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • 5+ years of proven environmental consulting experience
  • Strong technical proposal and report writing abilities
  • Must be detail-oriented, team player with excellent communication, analytical, and organization, as well as time and budget management skills
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate field/office equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Plan and implement hazardous building materials surveys for renovation and demolition projects, including asbestos, lead-based paint, PCB-caulk, mold, and other wastes
  • Conduct bulk sampling, area assessments, data analysis, and prepare survey reports and sampling plans
  • Develop project-specific abatement plans and technical specifications compliant with regulations
  • Prepare technical proposals and reports
  • Communicate with clients and regulators to keep projects moving and on schedule
  • Self-manage and make decisions during all project phases
  • Manage project budgets and maintain client relationships
  • Mentor and guide junior environmental staff to strengthen capability and growth
  • Support business development initiatives

Job description

The Environmental Project Manager will support the Building and Construction business by overseeing Environmental projects in the Latham, New York Region. This position is expected to travel 25% of the time.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $70K - $90K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

Shift/Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM (may vary)

What you’ll do:

  • Plan and implement regulated hazardous building materials surveys for renovation and demolition projects, including asbestos, lead-based paint, PCB-caulk, mold, and other hazardous and universal wastes.
  • Conduct bulk sampling, homogeneous area assessments, data analysis, quantification, and prepare detailed survey reports and sampling location plans.
  • Develop project-specific asbestos and hazardous materials abatement plans and associated technical specifications in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to prepare technical proposal and reports
  • Ability to communicate with clients and regulators to keep projects moving and on schedule
  • Ability to self-manage and make decisions during all phases of a project
  • Ability to manage and control project budgets and build solid relationship with clients
  • Mentor and guide junior environmental staff to strengthen technical capability and team growth.
  • Support Business Development initiatives

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • 5+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience
  • Strong technical proposal and report writing abilities
  • Must be detail-oriented, and a team player with excellent communication, analytical, and organization, as well as time and budget management skills
  • Must be computer literate and able to operate most field/office equipment relating to one’s discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lead Inspector and Risk Assessor, NYSDOL Article 32 Mold Assessor, Asbestos Project Monitor, and NYSDOH Radioactive Materials License (XRF).
