  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to Greater Boston sites.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Environmental Project Manager is a full-time, hybrid on-site role based in Boston, MA. This position is responsible for overseeing asbestos abatement projects, including monitoring contractor activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as project specifications and safety standards. Day-to-day work includes conducting asbestos inspections, performing air monitoring and sampling, documenting site conditions, and preparing clear, accurate reports. The role involves coordinating with project managers, contractors, and clients, maintaining detailed project records, and promptly reporting findings or issues. The Environmental Project Manager also helps ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Environmental Remediation Services’ quality expectations.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of asbestos regulations, abatement practices, and environmental health and safety standards.
  • Experience conducting field inspections, air monitoring, and sampling, with the ability to interpret and document results clearly using Phase Contrast Microscopy.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate records and project documentation.
  • Effective communication skills for working with contractors, clients, and internal project teams, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work on-site in various conditions, follow safety protocols, and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Relevant state licenses or certifications for asbestos inspection and project monitoring (or eligibility to obtain within a defined timeframe).
  • NIOSH 582 training
  • Proficiency in the analysis of AIHA PAT samples
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites in and around Greater Boston, MA.
  • Preferred: Experience in environmental consulting or construction-related fields, and familiarity with other hazardous materials regulations.
