Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in environmental science/engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years environmental experience in regulatory agency, consulting, or private industry.
• 3 years supervisory/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise staff and unit operations; provide training and coaching.
• Oversee unit budget and allocate resources for staff development and travel.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and grant requirements.
• Serve as technical/regulatory resource for staff, stakeholders, and the public.
• Act as primary decision-maker for unit-level operational and technical issues.
• Maintain internal/external communication through meetings and outreach.
• Respond to information requests regarding compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Drive process improvement to increase efficiency, quality, and output across the section.
• Track and report agency metrics to upper management.
• Prepare annual reports and assist with budget projections and expenditures.
