Job summary

NYS Department of Environmental Conservation seeks a Project Manager to oversee sites in remedial programs including State Superfund, Brownfield Cleanup, Spills Response, and Bulk Storage. You will manage contractors, coordinate with EPA on federal projects, and supervise staff while ensuring compliance with orders and agreements.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a New York State Professional Engineer license and current registration.
• One year of engineering experience in sanitary, public health or environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of remedial parties and applicants implementing remedial programs; review and approval of engineering work plans, reports, and plans.
• Manage field activities, supervise contractors and possibly one junior staff member; ensure remedy effectiveness and protectiveness.
• Interact with public, regulated facilities, and government agencies; interpret groundwater, soil, and related data; write plans and reports.
