Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Columbus, OH seeks a Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder to lead and expand our Environmental practice focused on public transportation. The role blends client service, technical excellence, and team leadership, with base salary plus bonuses and potential ownership.

You will win work, manage projects profitably, and mentor the next generation of staff. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in environmental/NEPA work, strong BD skills, and a track record of building teams while

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience managing environmental, NEPA, and PDP tasks for public transportation projects.
ODOT prequalification for Environmental Doc Prep CE or EA/EIS is desirable but not required.
Strong business development skills with proven ability to win work.
Experience with GIS (ArcGIS) and CAD is desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead an environmental team and manage relationships with key clients.
Promote growth of the local environmental team and mentor staff.
Support other practices in the office to deliver environmental-focused work.
Operate with integrity and sound business principles.
Provide practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals.
Maintain open communication with partners and team, and grow the Environmental Services practice.
Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, and participate in recruiting.
