Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Senior Project Manager to expand our Environmental practice in Phoenix, AZ. You will lead client engagements with government entities and regulatory agencies, mentor staff, and grow the environmental business with autonomy and a path toward ownership.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of relevant experience, an advanced degree in a related field, and strong technical writing skills. Travel to project sites is expected as needed; ArcGIS experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience, including state and federal wetland and species permitting requirements.
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Biology, or related field.
• Ecological field work experience.
• Strong technical writing skills and experience writing detailed technical reports.
• Working knowledge or strong interest in ArcGIS.
• Willingness to travel for projects as needed.
• Enjoy working in both an office environment and in the field.
• Interest in working with planners and designers to minimize ecological impacts.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and regulatory agencies to fulfill regulations and requirements relating to projects.
• Lead the environmental practice, set vision and strategy, and establish goals.
• Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, mentor team, and provide leadership.
• Autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the business with potential ownership advancement.
