Kimley-Horn seeks an entrepreneurial Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder to lead and grow the Municipal Roadway practice in Overland Park, KS. This leadership role blends client service, business development, technical excellence, and team leadership with potential ownership opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of civil engineering, design, and management of Municipal Roadway projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of application.
  • Extensive client contacts and relationships.
  • Proven track record of success in winning and delivering projects for local municipalities.
  • Business development skills, including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.
  • Strong desire and ability to engage with clients to solve project problems.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the vision for the Municipal Roadway practice with growth and innovation.
  • Create a growth vision for the local Municipal Roadway practice and beyond.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and position the firm as a trusted partner.
  • Drive business development to secure new opportunities and expand market presence.
  • Supervise and lead Municipal Roadway design projects with technical oversight.
  • Ensure quality and timely deliverables and supervise execution of work.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team and foster a growth-oriented environment.
  • Ensure project profitability, resource allocation, and smooth transitions of work to staff.
  • Uphold integrity and drive operational excellence and long-term success.
