Job summary

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking an Environmental Planning Supervisor to guide NEPA policy and statewide environmental planning across transportation projects. This role leads regulatory interpretation and collaboration with agencies to ensure environmental standards are integrated from planning through operations.

The position oversees staff, develops training, and supports statewide program improvements.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as an Environmental Planner 2 or equivalent.
• Six years of professional experience in environmental planning.
• Master's degree in planning or environmental sciences with three years of experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply environmental laws to guide department programs.
• Coordinate with intergovernmental and resource agencies to resolve issues.
• Provide guidance on environmental matters for staff and customers.
• Supervise environmental planners and manage training and development.
• Develop training materials and manage statewide contracts, improvements.
