Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an Environmental Planning Supervisor to lead statewide environmental planning efforts. You will interpret regulations, develop policies, and coordinate with internal and external partners to support transportation projects across the Commonwealth.

As NEPA Supervisor, you will provide technical guidance, supervise environmental planners, and manage training materials and statewide contracts.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as Environmental Planner 2 or six years of professional environmental planning experience;
• Master's degree in planning or environmental sciences with three years of experience;
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Interpret regulations and develop policies to guide department programs and initiatives.
• Coordinate with intergovernmental and resource agencies to resolve issues and support compliance.
• Provide technical guidance on environmental matters for staff and customers.
• Supervise environmental planners and manage training and development activities.
• Develop statewide training materials, manage contracts, and support process improvements.
• Review NEPA and Act 120 documents for accuracy and alignment with requirements.
