Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, engineering, environmental or resource planning.
• Four years of verifiable environmental permitting/regulations experience.
• Valid California driver's license.
• Master’s or PhD may substitute for experience as described.

Responsibilities

• Research and track federal, state, and local regulations affecting the department.
• Advise management on regulations and assist with permit processing.
• Review plans and capital projects for compliance.
• Manage environmental sample collection and analysis programs with consultants.
• Present technical information to regulatory agencies.
• Develop permit processing and inspection procedures for compliance.
• Maintain effective working relationships and permit files.
• Drive city vehicles to wastewater facilities.
