Environmental Monitoring Associate Scientist

Join us as an Environmental Monitoring Associate Scientist at MilliporeSigma.

Role Overview: This position involves routine environmental monitoring (EM) testing within the Quality Control department at our Madison and Verona sites. Responsibilities include performing viable and non-viable particulate counts, endotoxin analysis, aseptic microbial sampling, agar plate analysis, and supporting deviations, change controls, and CAPAs. The role also involves process improvement, maintaining a clean lab environment, and ensuring audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform environmental monitoring tasks to ensure data accuracy and quality.
2. Assist in training new lab staff.
3. Maintain laboratory supplies, waste disposal, and housekeeping to support a safe, audit-ready environment.
4. Resolve problems with guidance, exercise judgment, and participate in project meetings.
5. Manage change controls and CAPAs, support SOP revisions, and uphold data integrity.
6. Collaborate across departments to meet project goals.
7. Comply with regulations such as ICH Q7, 21 CFR Parts 11, 210, 211, and 820.

Physical Attributes: Ability to work in a lab with hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11, 210, 211, 820; ICH Q7; ISO 14001, 45001.
• Strong communication, documentation, and aseptic microbiological skills.
