Job summary

Pace in Lombard, IL, is seeking a Scientist 1 to join our environmental testing laboratory. You will conduct hands‑on analyses and operate instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP, ensuring the integrity of environmental data that impacts communities and ecosystems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other science related degrees; equivalent education/experience considered.
• We are happy to provide training and support for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Operate instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and other analytical tools.
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry methods.
• Review and interpret results from sample analyses to ensure data quality.
• Document procedures, observations, and results clearly in lab records.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and PPE as required.
