Job summary

ICF seeks an Environmental Laboratory Chemist to support the USEPA Region 9 ESAT contract at the Corvallis, Oregon facility. The role centers on preparing and analyzing organic chemistry samples using GC‑ECD, GC‑FID, and GCMS to support EPA programs addressing environmental hazards.

The ideal candidate will have a 4+ year laboratory background with EPA-approved methodologies, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related
• 4+ years of lab experience using EPA-approved methodologies and instrumentation (GC‑FID, GC‑ECD, GC/MS)
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• U.S. citizenship required per federal contract
• MUST PASS an EPA background check to access US federal property

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and operate GC‑ECD, GC‑FID and GCMS to determine VOCs, pesticides, Aroclors, and fuels hydrocarbons
• Support EPA programs with QA/QC and compliance procedures
• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure timely analyses
• Maintain laboratory documentation and instrument maintenance activities
