Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking an Environmental Summer Internship to support permitting, plans, inspections, and record keeping across our Midwest project sites. You will gain hands-on experience with environmental compliance and reporting while working with a results-driven team.

You'll participate in audits, environmental sampling, waste tracking, and Energy Star efficiency efforts, travel to project and plant sites, and develop strong written and verbal communication skills while applying your STEM

Qualifications

• Junior status or greater toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, biology, soil science, or a related field.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Interest in environmental compliance and permitting.
• Excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support the environmental team with permitting, plans, inspections, and record keeping.
• Participate in audits, environmental sampling, waste tracking, and disposal.
• Assist with plant Energy Star efficiency improvements and tracking.
• Support environmental leadership activities at plants.
• Travel to project and plant sites to support environmental compliance.
