Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Environmental Specialist to integrate environmental requirements into large-scale project planning, permits, and construction plans at Port Arthur LNG in Port Arthur, TX. You will aid in bid input, inspections, and emergency response to minimize environmental impact.

The role requires a Bachelor's in environmental sciences or related field with 2–9 years of experience, knowledge of environmental laws, and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, field biology or natural resources and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
• Specialized knowledge in environmental science or related disciplines and familiarity with environmental laws and regulations.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including extended weeks, weekends, night shift or split shift.

Responsibilities

• Assists execution of the environmental component of an ESH Program including technical and administrative aspects.
• Supports development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans and training programs.
• Provides input to Engineering, Construction and other groups to ensure environmental requirements are integrated in planning and execution.
• Interprets environmental requirements and guidance on risk assessment and program execution.
• Researches regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports.
• Participates in environmental permitting, studies, risk assessments and reviews.
• Conducts inspections and monitoring to identify risks and verify mitigation effectiveness.
• Provides guidance on environmental mitigation and protection of sensitive resources.
• Participates in meetings with customers and stakeholders.
