Job summary

Stantec is seeking a coordinator to implement the HSSE program within the Environmental Services BU in the US. Based at a major US Central or South region office, this full-time role reports to the Business Line HSSE Manager and requires travel to field sites as needed.

The candidate will support project teams in HSSE procedures, track incidents, and lead improvements while coaching leadership in HSSE practices and ensuring compliance with local laws and Stantec standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in health and safety.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety asset but not required.
• Experience supporting HSSE in field operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support HSSE procedures to deliver safe projects.
• Independently solve HSSE problems in area of control.
• Act as SME for remedial construction, environmental restoration, cultural services.
• Track incidents and develop preventative actions; share lessons learned.
• Identify and lead process improvements aligned with strategic goals.
• Coach leadership on HSSE across business lines.
• Assist operations with HSSE systems and local legislation.
• Provide pre-job planning and hazard assessments for field activities.
• Conduct field assessments and site inspections; travel may be required.
• Promote HSSE culture and continuous improvement in responsibility area.
