Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Coordinator to oversee HSSE program implementation within the Environmental Services BU in the US. The role is based out of a major US office in the Central or South region and reports to the Business Line HSSE Manager.

This full-time position requires adapting to geography-driven hours and travel up to 20%. You will support project teams, lead HSSE initiatives, and ensure compliance with local regulations while fostering a

Qualifications

• Professional safety certifications are assets but not required.
• Extensive HSSE experience in field operations.
• Maintain HSSE trainings and certifications as required.
• Strong leadership and prioritization abilities.
• Able to deliver and present to groups of various sizes.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% (2 weeks or less at a time).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of HSSE procedures for safe projects.
• Act as SME for remedial construction, environmental restoration, and cultural service areas.
• Track and manage incidents; develop preventative and corrective actions.
• Lead process improvements aligned with strategic goals.
• Coach and advise leadership on HSSE matters.
• Support HSSE systems and local legislation.
• Provide pre-job planning and hazard assessments for field activities.
• Conduct field assessments and worksite inspections; may require overnight travel.
• Promote HSSE culture within the area of responsibility.
