Job summary

Solventum is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager in Monrovia, CA to lead EHS programs and ensure regulatory compliance. You will define site priorities, manage resources, and drive improvements across the EHS management system and facility safety plans.

The role requires a Bachelor7s degree or higher with substantial EHS experience, supervisory background, and a track record of implementing robust safety programs. Onsite work with up to 5% travel is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor7s degree or higher and 7 years of experience in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 11 years of experience in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Providing environment, health and safety leadership and direction, in consultation with the leadership team at the Monrovia, CA site and Corporate EHS Team.
  • Setting short and long-term strategic direction, site EHS priorities and assigning resources.
  • Managing the maintenance of, and improvements in the sites implementation of Solventum EHS Management System and Facility EHS program plans.
  • Managing risk and protecting the companys employees, assets, and intellectual property; ensuring compliance to all applicable standards and regulations and conformance to all Solventum EHS expectations.
  • Supporting and communicating with site management, who have accountability for site EHS performance.
  • Elevating site EHS culture through an expansion of standard work, employee engagement, mentoring and coaching, assuring effective and efficient resources (people and capital) and a pervasive full compliance mindset.
  • Ensuring strong alignment of department goals, metrics and targets with the plant vision and targets.
  • Managing to site performance targets, coaching and leading salaried and hourly employees.
  • Interacting with internal auditors and regulatory agencies and serving as liaison between Solventum and governmental agencies to obtain the necessary permit related to health/safety/environment for the plant operation.
  • Developing and maintaining the technical competency for the Team and provides leadership, coaching and direction to direct reports.
  • Keep up to date with applicable regulations.

Impact You’ll Make
  • Providing environment, health and safety leadership and direction, in consultation with the leadership team at the Monrovia, CA site and Corporate EHS Team.

  • Managing the maintenance of, and improvements in the site’s implementation of Solventum EHS Management System and Facility EHS program plans (incident investigations, response teams, Management of Change processes, EHS systems/data/methodologies, process safety assurance, industrial hygiene, fire protection, ergonomics, etc.)
  • Managing risk and protecting the company’s employees, assets, and intellectual property; ensuring compliance to all applicable standards and regulations and conformance to all Solventum EHS expectations
  • Supporting and communicating with site management, who have accountability for site EHS performance

Your Skills and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND seven (7) years of experience in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing
  • High School Diploma/GED AND eleven (11) years of experience in Environmental Health, Safety, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing
  • Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
  • Ten (10) years of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) experience in a manufacturing or production environment in a private, public, government, or military organization.
  • Experience leading an EHS function or team with responsibility for risk reduction, regulatory compliance, and EHS program implementation.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining EHS programs, policies, and procedures across manufacturing or production operations.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Improvement certification, or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives related to EHS programs, regulatory requirements, operational improvements, or organizational transformation.
  • Experience communicating EHS requirements, compliance obligations, and program objectives to leaders, employees, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and related regulatory agencies.
  • Professional EHS certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or similar credential.

Benefits and Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is $143,200 - $196,900, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
